The EU in a zealous attitude to the environment, its protection and lawmaking that protects “Ecology” is ahead of other countries. In 1992, the directive “Directive 94/62 / EC” – “PACKAGING AND ITS WASTE” was adopted, which clearly spells out the properties that packaging must have (which undoubtedly includes packaging bags), namely, packaging must have the following properties:
• Recyclable packaging – ie. not a one-time use.
• The Resource from which the packaging is produced must be recoverable.
• Packaging must be recyclable and ‘recycled multiple times’.
• When degraded, cause the least damage to the environment, etc.
All of the above packaging materials (biodegradable bags, paper bags, plastic bags) do not fully possess this property. Plastic bags – when burning, they will release toxic gas, which causes irreparable damage to the environment.
The best material for the production of bags, based on the European declaration, is spunbond.
The advantage of spunbond bags:
• When exposed to open air (under the influence of ultraviolet radiation) – decomposes in 10-12 months. Non-toxic, even when burned, it decomposes only into carbon dioxide and water.
• When staying in a sun-protected environment – 3-5 years. Unlike a plastic bag (from 100 years.).
• The bag replaces 5-10 plastic bags because it is reusable, respectively, one spunbond bag thrown into the trash replaces 5-10 bags of polyethylene.
• It is recyclable (multiple recycling) – 100%, this statement is true for bags.
• In terms of its strength characteristics, it surpasses a plastic bag, tk. all seams and details of the eco-bag are sewn off by L-pack, not soldered.
